Revised Practice Schedules for the Next Three Weeks!

To best accommodate Coach Freidhof's high school coaching schedule and upcoming school events we will have the following practice schedule for the next three weeks.

Practices Monday, Dec. 1st
K-2nd 6-7 PM (normal practice)
3rd-6th 7-8 PM (a one hour practice on Monday is better than no practice at all)

Practices Monday, Dec. 8th
K-2nd 6-7 PM (normal practice)
3rd-6th 7-8 PM (to accommodate the 5 wrestlers that have a concert on Tuesday night)

Practice Tuesday, 16th 
K-2nd 6-7 PM
3rd-6th 7-8 PM (time change to accommodate K-2nd group)
(Coach Freidhof has a Freshmen Wrestling Tournament in Manchester on Monday, Dec. 15th)

Normal Practice on Monday, Dec. 22nd and Tuesday, Dec. 23rd.


Summary of changes: 3rd-6th will have practice this week on MONDAY, DEC. 1ST and 3rd-6th will also have practice on MONDAY, DEC. 8TH instead of Tuesday.  K-2nd will NOT have practice on Monday, Dec. 15th but rather on Tuesday, Dec. 16th.  The next three weeks will all be K-2nd from 6-7 PM followed by 3rd-6th from 7-8 PM.  Questions contact Coach Freidhof.

Iowa vs. Iowa State Dual!!!

Decorah Wrestling Club Parents and Wrestlers - Coach Freidhof still has tickets and open bus seats for the Iowa vs Iowa State Dual tomorrow (Saturday, Nov. 29th) in Iowa City.  Cost to ride the charter bus is $22 and cost of ticket is $8.  We will be loading the bus at 3:15 PM in the Keystone Parking Lot between the Decorah High School and Decorah Bank and Trust.  Dual meet is at 7 PM at Hawkeye Carver Arena and we will return as soon as the meet is done.  Contact Coach Freidhof if you are interested in going - Coach Freidhof's Cell 563-380-2735.

2014-2015 Decorah Wrestling Club Waiver

As Parent/Legal Guardian of ______________________________________, I/We agree that participation in the Decorah Wrestling Club program is at our own risk and I/We will not in any way hold liable the Decorah Wrestling Club, their Officers, Program Directors, Coaches, Sponsors, Referees, or the Decorah School District for any injuries and/or loss of property suffered directly or indirectly in training for, traveling to or from, and participating in the Decorah Wrestling Club program.

During the wrestling season, photos of wrestlers may be taken during practices, tournaments, and other club events. We attempt to place as many of these photos as possible on the Decorah Wrestling Club website/Facebook page as well as submitting photos to the local newspapers and/or club publications. We would appreciate every parent authorizing us to use photos of their children on our website, local papers, and publications ~ this is what builds interest with the wrestlers, their classmates and our community to participate in our club. Thank you!

Weather related announcements will be on KDEC and KVIK. Please tune in if weather is bad. There is no secure area for coats, bags, etc. Do not let your child bring valuable clothing, watches, or jewelry. Wrestling shoes and special gear are not required. Each wrestler must wear a pair of clean, dry, soft-soled shoes into the wrestling room. Parents are encouraged to attend practice and help instruct but we request younger children not be brought into the wrestling room because it is distracting and potentially dangerous. DISCIPLINE IS OUR #1 RULE!!! Please be advised anyone unwilling to follow DWC rules will be asked to sit out. There will be no refunds.

2014/2015 DWC Information

Below is some important information for parents, please be sure to read in its entirety as there is A LOT of information.

DWC will have two practice age groups, K-2nd and 3rd-6th. All practices will be held in the high school wrestling room this year.

K-2nd will practice on Mondays from 6-7 PM starting Nov. 10th.
3rd-6th will practice on Tuesdays from 6-7:30 PM starting Nov. 11th.

Registration for club membership is $50 and includes 10+ practice sessions, club t-shirt, and paid entry fee to the Decorah Viking Athletic Booster Club Youth Tournament on Sunday, Feb. 8th.

HOW TO REGISTER:

There is also a wavier form that the parent/guardian MUST SIGN and turn in the first night your child practices. This wavier can be found on our website. Payment for first session is due the first night of practice, as well.

Coach Freidhof will collect wavier and payments starting 30 minutes before practice is scheduled to begin on Monday or Tuesday outside the wrestling room.

SOCIAL MEDIA
We strongly suggest following our wrestling blog (www.decorahwrestlingclub.blogspot.com). This will be our primary means of communicating to parents. Below the calendar (left column) is a “follow by email” option – simply type in your email address to receive posts via email (note this is a delayed email – in some cases you will not receive until the next day) Practice changes/cancellations will be posted on blog as well as announced on the local radio stations. We encourage you to “like” our facebook page (Decorah Vikings Wrestling) to receive updates.
