2018-2019 Decorah Wrestling Club Registration Information
2018-2019 Decorah Wrestling Club Information
Below is some important information for parents, please be sure to read in its entirety as there is A LOT of information.
DWC will have two practice age groups, K-2nd and 3rd-6th. All practices will be held in the high school wrestling room this year.
K-2nd will practice on Mondays from 6-7 PM starting Nov. 12th.
3rd-6th will practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7:15 PM starting Nov. 13th.
Registration for club membership is $50 and includes 10+ practice sessions, club t-shirt, and paid entry fee to the Decorah Viking Athletic Booster Club Youth Tournament in February, 2019.
HOW TO REGISTER:
Registration will be held ONLINE ONLY - please click on this link to register.
DWC Online Registration Form
There is also a wavier form that the parent/guardian MUST SIGN and turn in the first night your child practices. This wavier can be found on our website. Payment for first session is due the first night of practice, as well.
Coach Freidhof will collect wavier and payments starting 15 minutes before practice is scheduled to begin on Monday or Tuesday outside the wrestling room.
SOCIAL MEDIA
We strongly suggest following our wrestling blog (www.decorahwrestlingclub.blogspot.com). This will be our primary means of communicating to parents. Below the calendar (left column) is a “follow by email” option – simply type in your email address to receive posts via email (note this is a delayed email – in some cases you will not receive until the next day) Practice changes/cancellations will be posted on blog as well as announced on the local radio stations. We encourage you to “like” our Facebook page (Decorah Vikings Wrestling), Twitter account (@DecorahWrestle) and our Instagram account (decorahvikingwrestling) to receive updates about Decorah Wrestling!

BARS for Sunday

Reminder of Final Week Schedule of DWC
Here is a friendly reminder of the schedule for the last week of Decorah Wrestling Club for the 2017-2018 season.
No practice tonight, Monday, Feb. 5th
(we already were not going to have practice before the weather came).
FINAL K-2nd Grade Practice will be tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 6th from 5:30-6:30.
Coach will bring some treats for the end of practice and please have your registration form filled out and ready to turn into Coach if you plan on wrestling in our youth tournament on Sunday. As a DWC wrestler you do not have to registrar online and your registration fee is already taken care of as part of your DWC membership.

The DVABC Youth Tournament will be on Sunday, Feb. 11th with weigh ins from 9:30-10:30 AM and wrestling projected to start at 11:30 AM. We hope to have a clinic from 10:30-11:30 AM.

No K-2nd Grade DWC Practice tonight, Monday, Jan. 22nd
Due to the water on the roads possibly freezing as night fall comes the school district would like people out of the high school by 5 PM therefore we will not be having Decorah Youth Wrestling Club practice tonight, Monday, Jan. 22nd for K-2nd graders.

Reminder that there is K-2nd Grade DWC Practice tonight, Monday, Jan. 15th from 6-7 PM.
Also on Thursday night (Jan. 18th) we will have our DWC Recognition Night at the High School Meet vs. New Hampton (there will be no 3rd-6th grade practice that night). DWC members get in free by wearing their t-shirts (sorry parents you still have to pay if you want to come watch). The JV matches start at 6:15 PM and we will call all the DWC members to the wrestling room between 6:45 and 7:15 PM - after we get organized by grade we will be introduced and we will have the wrestlers wrestle one match (we will have two mats out and everyone will wrestle at the same time). After the match wrestlers will be released back to the stands where they can stay and watch the rest of the meet or leave if they chose. Please let Coach Freidhof know if you have any questions.
Counting this week we have four weeks left of practices. The week of Feb. 5th- 9th will be our last practices with our DVABC Youth Tournament on Sunday, Feb. 11th marking the end of our season. Reminder that your entry fee to the tournament is part of your DWC membership. Coach Freidhof will have the entry forms for the tournament out in two weeks.
